Program Discription

Certification Programs:

  • Mountain Guide
The Mountain Guide Program consists of three (3) certification streams; Alpine Guide, Ski Guide, and Rock Guide. Completion of the program grants you the prestigious Mountain Guide Certification, which qualifies ACMG members for recognition throughout the world in IFMGA member countries.
  • Hiking Guide
There are two levels in the Hiking Guide Program: Day Hiking Guide and Backpacking Guide. Day Hiking Guides lead clients on established trails, especially in National and Provincial Parks. Backpacking Guides undertake multi-day wilderness trips in forested and alpine terrain that does not require technical climbing.
  • Climbing Gym Instructor
Climbing Gym Instructors teach climbing on artificial structures. Level 1 teach introductory sessions and basic top-roping courses. Level 2 teach and coach leading courses and intermediate movement skills. Level 3 work on advanced movement courses, develop courses, and supervise larger climbing programs.
